911 EDUCATION

MEET THE FIREFIGHTER

This program is  an opportunity  to teach the youth of  our community that  firefighters  are their friends. Firefighters “transform” from men and women in uniform to firefighters in their protective turn out gear that includes self contained breathing apparatus. They can look scary so it is important for one to see what they look and sound like while wearing their gear. If someone becomes trapped inside a burning building this is the person you want to see and hear.

PASSPORT TO SAFETY

“Passport to Safety” is a community supported program provided jointly by the Vandalia Division of Fire and Police, the Butler Township Fire and Police, and the Vandalia Butler City Schools. This program may be scheduled through the Vandalia Butler City Schools by calling 937-415-6400.

SENIOR ADULT FIRE ACADEMY (SAFA)

Safety topics discussed include: electrical safety, fire safety, kitchen safety, medication safety, seasonal safety, and vehicle safety. Class instruction includes a demonstration of how to use a fire extinguisher, how to perform CPR, and how to prevent a fall.

STOP, DROP AND ROLL

Focusing on making the right decision when there is a fire or emergency is important. This program is for the first grade students within the Vandalia Butler school district.
