Senior Center Activities

BINGO is offered several times a month. See newsletter with dates and times.

Sinclair College for Lifelong Learning
Classes are held at the Senior Center with instructors provided by Sinclair Community College. 
Registration and Payment is required through Sinclair.
To participate you must be member of the Senior Center.

Classes Include:
History: Mondays, 1:00pm-3:15pm
Painting: Thursdays, 12:00pm-3:15pm

Arts & Crafts
Super Sewers meet every other Tuesday from 9:00am-12:00pm. This group makes quilts, lap robes, baby quilts and walk bags to donate to Children’s Medical Center, Hospice of Dayton and nursing homes. A wide variety of their items (quilts, casserole carriers, cloth children’s book,etc) are also sold at the Annual Bazaar and throughout the year as available.

Krafty Bloomers (a floral group) meet the first and third Mondays at 1:00pm. This group creates beautiful silk floral arrangements, seasonal decorations and memorials. Items are displayed and sold year round with a special Christmas display at the Annual Bazaar and throughout the year as available.

Card Groups– New Players are always welcome. Table hosts are listed in the monthly newsletter
Canasta – Monday at 12:30pm
Bridge – Tuesdays at 10:00am
Hand and Foot- Tuesdays at 1:30pm
Party Bridge – Wednesdays at 12:30pm
Up and Down the River – MOST Wednesdays at 1:00pm *Bring 50 pennies
Pinochle – Thursdays at 1:00pm
Double Deck Pinochle – Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00pm
Bid Euchre – First and third Wednesdays at 1:00pm
Duplicate Bridge – Thursdays at 12:00pm
Penny Ante Poker – Fridays at 1:00pm

Billiards – The pool room is open daily to all members. There are two billiard tables available for practice and competition.

Travel – We have an outstanding and popular travel program. There are up to 12 trips per year and rarely a cancellation. You must be a member of the Senior Center to participate and deposits are required when you sign up. Trips fill up quickly. The itinerary includes a number of day and overnight trips of varying length. Favorites include one-day mystery trips and the annual casino trip. Free Medicare counseling and assistance from OSHIIP.
Free blood pressure checks and other health screenings.
Free hearing screening NEED TO SIGN UP.
Low cost flu shots.  
Applications for Golden Buckeye Cards.

Senior Citizens Club- Business meetings are held the first Friday of each month. The Senior club’s board conducts a business meeting immediately following the potluck dinner. Members of the Center have the opportunity to voice their concerns, ideas and opinions and have the opportunity to vote at these meetings.

Birthday Celebration – On the last Wednesday of each month, we celebrate with the people who had birthdays that month.   Cake is served to each person who is at the center. The cake is provided by Friendship Village and Crossroads Rehab.

Potluck – Bring your favorite dish to share, plus disposable plate and table service. Meals are the first and third Fridays and chicken will now be supplied by the board for those that are attending.  Dinners are always held at 6 p.m. Please sign up for potlucks by the day before at 1 PM.

First Friday of each month there is a meal followed by a membership meeting.
Third Friday of each month there is a meal followed by entertainment or games.

Catered Dinners – Dinners are held several times a year. $12 per meal. Entertainment to follow dinner. Limited space – dinners fill up quickly. Menus posted in monthly newsletter.
