Sunday, December 4, 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Join us for our Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Market at the Vandalia Recreation Center! The City will ring in the holiday season by conducting a tree lighting ceremony at the Vandalia Recreation Center at 6:00pm on Sunday, December 4. There will be a Holiday Market running from 4:00pm – 7:30pm inside the Vandalia Recreation Center Gymnasium where you will get a head start on your holiday shopping from a various number of vendors! The tree will be decorated through community efforts and then lit to kick off the holiday season! Join us for refreshments, food trucks, music, a chance to tell Santa Claus your Christmas wish and get a picture with a reindeer! Please make sure you bring cash and card to the market to purchase your items and raffle tickets! Walk-In event; no fee and all are welcome! 

Schedule: 

4:00pm - 6:00pm = Holiday Market Open 

6:00pm - 6:30pm = Outside Singing by Butler High School Chamber Choir, Arrival of Santa Claus & Tree Lighting 

6:30pm - 7:30pm = Holiday Market Open 

6:30pm - 7:15pm = Vandalia United Methodist Church Hand Bell Performance 

7:00pm = Begin reading off gift basket raffle winners 

Vendors (Include but not limited to): glass art, baked goods, cocoa bombs, handmade clay earrings and pendants, wooden laser engravings, pound cakes, gourmet popcorn, shadow boxes, essential oils, soaps, handwoven baskets, pottery, wreaths, tumblers, nail trip designs, vintage clothing, wind chimes, necklaces, home goods, crochet, resin crafts, seasonal decor, purses, children's books, trinkets, and much more!
