Food Pantry

2019 Fall Food Drive is scheduled for October 12 – 13!

The largest food drive of the year for the Vandalia-Butler Food Pantry is scheduled for the weekend of October 12-13.

Empty grocery bags will be delivered to single-family homes in Vandalia and Butler Township Saturday, October 12. The pantry asks you to consider filling those bags with unexpired non-perishable food items, then place the bag on your porch October 13 for pick-up.

You can also deliver your donations directly to the Vandalia Fire Headquarters, 8705 Peters Pike or the Vandalia Recreation Center, 1111 Stonequarry Road.

The Food Pantry has been expanded. The need for food donations always exists, where to place it to be most accessible and usable was an increasing problem. The added space, connected to the back of the current building, is designated as a warehouse for receiving, dating and separating the donations before being placed on shelving for volunteers to gather and pack items for those in need.

The following is a list of items MOST NEEDED at the Food pantry.

Kids Snacks

Canned Meat

Canned Fruit

Boxed Mashed Potatoes

Spaghetti Sauce

Baked Beans
