Ohio Department of Health mandates face masks or facial coverings in Montgomery County public spaces

How does the Ohio Department of Health’s facial covering order impact Vandalia?

An Ohio Department of Health mandate goes into effect at 6 p.m. this evening throughout Montgomery County requiring the wearing of a face mask or facial protective covering for anyone entering a public building, or outdoors in an area where consistent social distancing is not possible. In order to comply with this order, the following operational changes will be implemented:

Vandalia Municipal Building – Any person entering the Vandalia Municipal Building will be required to wear a mask or protective facial covering. Admittance to the Municipal Building will be limited to only those conducting business with City staff. Appointments to meet with City staff are not required, but are strongly encouraged.

Vandalia Justice Center – Any person entering the Vandalia Justice Center will be required to wear a mask or protective facial covering. Admittance to the Justice Center will be limited to only those conducting business with Police or Court staff. Appointments to meet with Police or Court staff are not required, but are strongly encouraged.

Vandalia Fire Station #1 and #2 – Any person entering Vandalia Fire Station #1 or #2 will be required to wear a mask or protective facial covering. Admittance to the station lobby will be limited to only those conducting business with fire staff. Appointments to meet with fire staff are not required, but are strongly encouraged.

Vandalia Recreation Center – Any person entering the Vandalia Recreation Center will be required to wear a mask or protective facial covering. Individuals will not be required to wear a mask while engaging in activities within the fitness center, gymnasium or swimming pool, but will need to wear a mask when exiting those areas to go to the locker room or to leave the building.

Cassel Hills Golf Course – Any person entering the clubhouse at Cassel Hills Golf Course will be required to wear a mask or protective facial covering. A Tee times secured in advance are required, there will be no walk-ins accepted. Individuals will not be required to wear a mask while golfing.

The City of Vandalia encourages everyone to practice social distancing by maintaining at least a six-foot distance from others. This applies to indoor and outdoor situations.
