• Fees: $180 Resident/VRC Member; $215 Non-Resident

Summer CampREC 2025 Details

Ages: 6 to 12 years old

• Children must be 6 before Tuesday, May 27 and cannot turn 13 before Friday, August 8.

Location: Vandalia Recreation Center

Hours: Camp runs from 9:00am – 4:00pm with structured activities during that time. Free extended hours are available from 7:30am – 9:00am and 4:00pm – 5:30pm.

Summer CampREC Scholarship

The Vandalia Parks and Recreation Department administers a Youth Scholarship Fund for Vandalia-Butler students who may need financial assistance to access programs such as Youth Sports Athletic Leagues, CampREC Summer Camp, and a Youth Membership at the Vandalia Recreation Center. Week 1: Camp Kickoff Week: May 27 – May 30  Camp meets Tuesday through Friday 

Welcome to the Summer CampREC Kickoff Week! Get ready for an action-packed week full of friendship, laughter, and fun introductions! Campers will get to know each other through exciting games, team challenges, creative crafts, and outdoor adventures. We’ll spend the week creating lasting memories and new friendships.  Week 2: Galaxy Explorers Camp Week: June 2 – 6

Blast off in an out-of-this-world adventure during Galaxy Explorers Camp Week! Campers will dive into the wonders of space with cosmic crafts, starry science experiments, and intergalactic games. From creating their own constellations to competing in astronaut challenges, this week is packed with fun and discovery. Get ready to explore the great outdoors during Nature Navigators Camp Week! Campers will embark on exciting adventures, like nature scavenger hunts, wildlife encounters, and more! Week 4: Game On Camp Week: June 16 – 20

Get ready for nonstop fun and exciting during Game On Camp Week! Campers will dive into action-pack days filled with challenges, classic camp games, and competitions. From relay races to group competitions and creative twists on old favorites, this week is all about teamwork, friendly competition, and having a blast. Week 5: All About Art: June 23 – June 27 

Unleash your creativity during All About Art Camp Week! Campers will explore their artistic side with painting, sculpting, drawing, and other fun, hands-on projects. Campers will celebrate all week with festive crafts, patriotic games, and starry activities inspired by our favorite summer holiday! From flag-themed relay races to creative projects and a celebration of our nation’s history, this week is packed with fun and pride. Week 7: Beach Bonanza Camp Week: July 7 - 11

Surf’s up at our Beach Bonanza Camp Week! Campers will enjoy a week of tropical-themed fun with exciting games, creative beach crafts, and water-inspired adventures. From beach ball relays to tropical games, every day is packed with sunny vibes and endless summer fun. Come make waves with us for an unforgettable week of beachy fun! Week 8: STEAM Spectacle Camp Week: July 14 – 18

Explore, create, and innovate at our STEAM Spectacle Camp Week! Campers will dive into the exciting worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math through creative projects and problem-solving challenges.  Week 9: Animal Planet Camp Week: July 21 – 25

Embark on a crazy adventure during our Animal Planet Camp Week! Campers will explore the amazing world of animals through interactive encounters and all kinds of animal-themed activities! From playing wild-themed games to creating animal-inspired crafts and exploring different ecosystems, every day is a new adventure.  Week 10: Camp Olympia: July 28 – August 1

Get ready to shine during Camp Olympia Camp Week! Campers will embrace their inner champions with Olympic-inspired games, team challenges, and friendly competition. From relay races to obstacle courses, this action-packed week is all about teamwork and sportsmanship. Campers will also make their own Olympic-themed keepsakes and explore their artistic side. Week 11: Grand Finale Camp Week: August 4 - 8

Prepare for the ultimate summer send-off at Grand Final Camp Week! Campers will spend the week celebrating the adventures, friendships, and memories made throughout the summer. We will spend the week participating in all of our favorite activities from this camp season. With a week full of surprises, this Grand Finale is the perfect way to wrap up an epic summer full of friendship and teamwork. Whether campers are competing in friendly challenges, thrilling games, or creating camp keepsakes, this week promises to be the grandest adventure yet! Summer CampREC Fees & Payment Process

*Weekly enrollment includes the field trip. You do not have to pay the field trip fee if you are purchasing a weekly enrollment.

The discount for the 2nd,3rd and 4th+ child applies to children living in the same household and enrolled in the same week. When registering your child for camp, you are required to pay a deposit of $25 per child per week to hold your child’s weekly spot for camp. This deposit fee will be subtracted from your total weekly payment fee for camp and is non-refundable. Please note: You will not be able to change from a weekly enrollment to a daily enrollment.

The rest of the payment for the week is due by 6:30pm on the Friday 10 days prior to each week the child is enrolled. If you fail to pay your balance in full, your child will be un-enrolled from the corresponding week of camp, and you will lose your $25 deposit.

If your child is unable to attend any week of camp for which they are enrolled, you must contact the Recreation Programs Manager at smoyer@vandaliaohio.org in writing 10 days prior to the week enrolled.  If this is completed, you will not be held responsible for the week’s remaining balance, but the $25 deposit will be forfeited. This will be permitted TWICE per child during the camp season. If you do not give a 10-day notice in writing, you will be responsible for the week’s payment regardless of attendance.

Camp takes a weekly field trip to various places every Wednesday. Any child signed up for a field trip day must attend the field trip. There will be no supervision at the VRC while the camp is on the field trip. All field trip fees are included in the weekly fee
